Training Services

Technical Training Development and Delivery

We work with your human resources and engineering management to define a curriculum that will enhance your team’s capabilities. When training targets have been established, we assist in the launch and delivery by providing content, testing and qualified instructors. After launch, we continue support by providing services such as periodic reviews, regularly scheduled course sessions, or internal trainer training for programs that will be brought in-house by the client.

High Voltage Safety Training for Mobility Applications

We offer three levels of training:

  • Level 1 (duration 0.5 days)- Recommended for all personnel likely to enter an area containing a high voltage system. Participants may include non-technical staff and employees not required to perform work in the vicinity of a high voltage system. This course is also a prerequisite to the Level 2 course. The goal for this course is awareness of high voltage hazards and protection of employees. Covered topics can be tailored for client needs, but standard topics include:
    • Introduction to mobility high voltage systems
    • Defining high voltage in mobility applications
    • Determination of acceptable level 1 work
    • Types of high voltage hazards
    • Protective measures in vehicles and mobility HV systems
    • Definition of intrinsically safe system
    • Identifying HV hazards
    • Hazard mitigation
      • Job Hazard Assessment
      • Task Cards
    • Review and Exam

  • Level 2 (duration 2 days)- Required for any employee working in the immediate area around, or directly on a HV system. The objective of this course is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge to make safe decisions to enable work on a de-energized HV system.  This course is a prerequisite for the Level 3 course. Covered topics can be tailored for client needs, but standard topics include:
    • Survey of Key Systems and Components of mobility HV electric systems
    • Switching Electrical Currents Electromagnetically
    • Storing Electrical Energy
    • Vehicle Integration Topics
    • Implications of Laws and Regulations
    • Hazard Classification
    • Types of Electrical Hazards
    • Implementation and Safe Working on High-Voltage Systems
      • De-energization of a HV system
    • Electric Vehicle Hazards and Mitigation Strategies
    • Electric Vehicle Safety Practices
    • Responding to HV Accidents
    • Review and Exam

  • Level 3 (duration 0.5 days)- Required for any employee working on an energized HV system. Provides instruction for live-working and practical examination of safe-working practices in a HV live-work scenario. The participants will be provided with a review of safe working strategies and methods and complete an examination in the form of successfully performing and common operation on a live system. The participants’ performance will be evaluated by the instructor for effective employment of the methods taught in the level 2. The operation selected for the evaluation may be prepared by our team or can be specified by the client for a solution that is more relevant to the client’s business.
